In order to help companies prepare for this change, leading accountants, Moore Thompson, are to host a free seminar on Wednesday 20 September 2017 at the South Holland Centre in Market Place, Spalding.
The event will feature a discussion on the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), which will include presentations from the Moore Thompson team and Alan Owen, Managing Director of data security specialists, ICARIS Sentinel.
Starting at 4.30pm, the free seminar will cover the rights of data subjects, stricter sanctions for non-compliance and the role of data protection officers within a company, amongst a number of other topics.
Speaking ahead of the event, Mark Hildred, Managing Partner at Moore Thompson, said: “GDPR has gone fairly unreported by the press and yet it could have a significant impact on a wide variety of businesses.
“Any company that holds data, whether it is for previous, existing or future customers or suppliers will need to co-operate with this new legislation or face the prospect of significant fines.
“We are delighted that Alan from ICARIS Sentinel is joining us and I would encourage businesses to attend this event to learn how they can prepare for the changes ahead.”
Guests will also be offered refreshments and will get a chance to speak with Moore Thompson’s team, while enjoying a light buffet.
Those wishing to attend the event are encourage to contact Louise Bacon at Moore Thompson by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 01775 711 333.
